Description

This chapter describes programs and services developed by the Queensland Government to focus on the causes of crime in Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal communities. The initiatives include the Torres Strait Justice Negotiation Table, which aims to establish a framework for a Regional Justice Agreement between residents of the Torres Strait and the Queensland Government; the Community Renewal Program; and a variety of justice, liquor licensing, police, housing, child care, youth and crisis accommodation programs.
