Seeking legal advice?

The Indigenous Justice Clearinghouse is a research centre. It does not provide legal advice or legal assistance, and cannot assist individuals with finding legal representation.

If you are seeking advice about a legal or a criminal issue it is recommended that you contact your local Community Legal Centre. Community Legal Centres (or CLCs) are not for profit, community-based organisations that provide free legal advice, casework and information and a range of community development services to their local or special interest communities.

A directory of Australian and New Zealand directory of Community Legal Centres, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal services, is maintained by the National Association of Community Legal Centres.
