"Can you help me? I want to do something for myself. I want to be somebody one-day."

This presentation contains a series of talking points discussing childhood trauma, including abuse and neglect, and ways of healing.
These are the PowerPoint slides used as the basis of a conference paper presented at the ‘Cultural healing in criminal justice service delivery: an identification of best practice and innovation to inform further service design’: National Indigenous Justice CEO Forum held in Brisbane in 2007. As such, they contain a series of talking points that draw on current research into cultural healing, cultural safety, and the implications of these for the criminal justice system, but they do not provide any weighty analysis or discussion.
