Government Response to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs report: Doing Time - Time for Doing: Indigenous Youth in the Criminal Justice System

Description

The Government’s response sets out where action has already been taken against specific recommendations of the ‘Doing time – time for doing’ report (the Report) and provides an indication of how the Government will take action to pursue others, offering commitment to work constructively with State and Territory Governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to reduce the over-representation of Indigenous young people in the justice system. In this responsive document, the Australian Government has accepted (in whole, in part or in principle) all of the Report’s recommendations. (Foreword, edited)
