The Victorian Government endorses the findings of the Final Report of the Victorian Indigenous Family Violence Task Force, which outlined a three stage process to develop and implement an Indigenous Family Violence Strategy in Victoria. This official response outlines the way forward to implementing the third stage of the Strategy, which involves the development and implementation of the Indigenous Family Violence Plan. The Plan will be overseen and monitored by an Indigenous Family Violence Partnership Forum, whose structure is described in this document. The document also summarises the process to develop and implement the Indigenous Family Violence Plan, key performance indicators for evaluating the response to Indigenous family violence, and specificnew Victorian Government initiatives to address Indigenous family violence. Local Indigenous Family Violence Action Plans will also be developed by Local Indigenous Family Violence Action Groups. An appendix lists grant recipients, 2002-03 and 2003-04, for Indigenous family violence related projects.
